A Knowledge Hub that Empowers Professionals to Drive Better Health Outcomes for Canadians

Tengja worked with Canada Health Infoway to define the strategy and design the online knowledge hub – a platform that is instrumental in realizing the vision of a connected healthcare system in Canada.

Background

Canada Health Infoway is a federal health agency. Its mandate is to achieve better health outcomes for Canadians by building a more connected health system in Canada. 

Infoway works collaboratively with stakeholders in the health ecosystem – jurisdictions, clinicians, patients, healthcare organizations, and tech innovators – to harness digital technologies and innovations to meet their common goal.

Insight & Strategy

Through a comprehensive assessment, Tengja uncovered a critical challenge faced by health professionals in Canada: a lack of easy access to the right tools, information and collaborative space needed to realize connected care in Canada. Siloed knowledge was limiting health professionals’ ability to work efficiently and effectively.

In response, Tengja worked collaboratively with Canada Health Infoway to create a strategic roadmap that outlined the approach to a dynamic online knowledge hub and an engaging community platform. This vision was designed to break down barriers by offering a seamless, intuitive user experience, share insights and help stakeholders stay informed.

Once the strategy was approved by Infoway’s executive team, Tengja continued to work with Infoway to bring the strategy to life, by leading the business requirements, the community platform market scan, and the user experience (UX) design of the knowledge hub. 

Rooted in a stakeholder-first approach, Tengja actively engaged stakeholders through the process, validating with users at key milestones. This collaborative approach ensures the final platform truly reflects user needs and priorities – positioning it to drive meaning impact towards the vision of Connected Care.

Results

Phase 1 of the initiative launched in Spring 2025 and has received many accolades and praises. 

Upcoming phases plan to introduce exciting features – including AI-powered tools and an engaging collaborative community space – designed to further empower health professionals.
